How to bridge USDT to USDC on Stellar
USDT is widely held but is not the settlement asset for USD-denominated payouts on Stellar. ROZO handles this as a cross-asset route: you pay in USDT on the source chain, and the payout leg settles Circle-issued USDC on Stellar. There is no separate swap step for you to perform.
Before you start
- A Stellar account that already exists on the ledger. New accounts need the XLM base reserve before they can receive anything.
- A USDC trustline on that account. Most Stellar wallets add it in one tap when you enable the asset.
- USDT plus the source chain's gas token in the wallet you are sending from.
Steps
- Open the routes page and pick the USDT pair for the chain your USDT is on.
- Enter the amount. The quote shows the USDC amount that will arrive on Stellar after fees and the conversion rate.
- Paste your Stellar address — it starts with
Gand is 56 characters. Do not paste an address for a different chain; a Stellar payout cannot be delivered to an EVM or Solana address. - Sign the pay-in transaction and wait for the payout.
Common mistakes
- No trustline. The payout cannot be delivered to an account that has not trusted USDC. Add the trustline before you start, not after.
- Sending to an exchange without checking the memo rule. Many Stellar deposit addresses are shared and require a memo. See bridging to an exchange deposit address.
- Expecting USDT to arrive. Check the "you receive" line in the quote before confirming.
FAQ
Can I receive USDT on Stellar instead of USDC?
No. USD-denominated payouts on Stellar settle in Circle-issued USDC. If you specifically need USDT, choose a destination chain that pays out USDT.
Do I need XLM before I can receive?
Yes. A Stellar account must exist on the ledger, which requires the XLM base reserve, and it must hold a trustline for USDC before USDC can be sent to it.
