Can I bridge directly to an exchange deposit address?
It is technically just an address, so the transfer will execute. The risk is entirely on the exchange's crediting rules, and those rules are not visible on-chain.
Check these before you send
- Network. The deposit address must be for the exact destination chain of your route. An address that looks valid may belong to a different network.
- Asset. The exchange must credit the asset you will actually receive. On a cross-asset route you receive USDC, not the USDT you sent.
- Memo or tag. Shared Stellar deposit addresses require a memo to identify your account. Without it the deposit is unattributed.
- Minimum deposit. Exchanges discard deposits below their own minimum, which is often higher than the route minimum.
The safer pattern
Bridge to a wallet you control, verify what arrived, then forward to the exchange from that wallet with the memo attached. It costs one extra on-chain fee and removes every failure mode above.
FAQ
What is the biggest risk?
Depositing an asset or a network the exchange does not credit on that address, or omitting a required memo on Stellar. Both can be unrecoverable.
Can ROZO attach a memo to a Stellar payout?
If your exchange requires a memo and you cannot attach one, do not use that address. Bridge to your own Stellar account first, then forward with the memo from your wallet.
